Episode 8 was all kinds of happy for me. 😀 I wanted to go all out and get lots of pics but then WP is being a complete jerk now and won’t let me post photos without making me reupload or refresh the page 5 million times.
Junpyo-Jandi are back onnnnnnn!!!
Alright, before I jump straight to the end, because the end part is too tantalisingly happy for me not to yell it out right now, I’ll continue from the previous episode, where Junpyo was trying to give Jandi one last chance. Jandi cannot bring herself to say yes, because she wants to win badly and does not want to let her ego get the better of her. See how similar she is to Junpyo? Hehe. Anyway Junpyo is obviously disappointed with that, and says that he will no longer protect her. Aww.
Then, let the games continue. On the day of the race we see the tarty trio doubling up as Team Junpyo’s cheerleaders, dressed in a horrid shade of pink. Well, everyone is writing off Team Jihoo because heck, Jandi is a girl swimming against boys. In no way that is possible, and it’s not like she’s a competitive athlete, no matter how hard they want us to think so.
Junpyo is sitting by the side watching, with Ga Eul standing next to him, which I found really weird, since Ga Eul is supposed to be on Team Jihoo’s side. That girl, she’s been fraternising with the enemy (Yi Jung) for too long. Well, Big Sis is also watching over the race sans dead animal over her shoulder today. Jihoo and Woo Bin go head-to-head first, and Jihoo gets a slight lead over Woo Bin before Jandi takes over. Yi Jung then jumps in, rather wimpily I must say. The splash that ensued…it must’ve hurt. Yi Jung catches up with Jandi after the first touch, then they’re neck and neck towards the end of the race. They both reach out for the wall…
Then it all goes black.
Just like what Jandi’s boss predicted too, I must say. Haha so he could really be psychic. When the lights come back on, Junhee notices that Junpyo is gone from his seat, and spots someone who looks like awfully like Junpyo walking away. Not awfully like, it was him. Junhee then realises that it was Junpyo who turned off the lights, and she smiles knowingly, happy that little bro has matured enough to realise the value of friendship. Awwwwww.
After the race, Junhee says goodbye to Jandi and the rest, and officially declares that the whole expulsion saga is over. No one objects, although Yi Jung wasn’t exactly smiling. After Junhee leaves, he walks over to Jandi and congratulates her for her great swim. He shakes Jandi’s hand, and gives a meaningful glance towards Ga Eul (fine, it may not be meaningful, but I’d like to think it is) then walks over and punches Jihoo in the stomach. The two girls are taken aback briefly, before Yi Jung smiles and tells him that they’re going to check on Junpyo. Yi Jung and Woo Bin then give Jihoo a friendly pat and smile before leaving. Jihoo smiles too, as he always does. F4 is back on again!
Jihoo then asks Jandi on a date. O_O Yes, no or maybe?
Back at Junpyo’s, F2 walk in on him playing with a toy robot, muttering to himself about paying him back. F2 thinks that he may have some post traumatic stress disorder, but Junpyo gets a bit nostalgic and reminisces on their old days. Jihoo has a wooden toy robot given to him by his father, but Junpyo wanted it so badly that he snatched it away. In the end the toy fell on the street and was ran over by a car. Jihoo was devastated, so Junpyo always felt like he owed Jihoo. He said that he couldn’t do the same to Jandi (destroy her), so this time he chose to hand her over.
After Junpyo is done reflecting, F2 seemed very proud of him. Yi Jung gives him a little fist bump and Woo Bin positively pounces on Junpyo. How wrong can that be, Woo Bin? And he had to do it with one leg lifted up behind him too. The next day however, Junpyo decides to hide under his sheets while Jihoo and Jandi have their first date. F2 show up in his room to rub it in a little, which was kind of the cute scene because it involved Yi Jung and his cuteness, and a little bit of a pillow fight.
I must say, Jandi did look really happy while riding Rui (I’ve decided it has to be Rui since it’s more relevant). But during the second half of the date, post-horse ride, we see that Jandi is a bit..bored? Jihoo seems to have gone back to his brooding. Apparently he brought her to the place where she and Junpyo had their first date. Hmm on purpose or by accident? She gets little flashbacks of her moments with Junpyo, who is actually stalking them from afar. Junpyo himself has the best coffee in the world from the vending machine in the building that they had their first date.
Jihoo then takes Jandi for another ride, in that tram thingy that Jandi spent the night with Junpyo. Again, I wonder if that’s done on purpose. Anyway, Jandi spots a little corner on the tram where there are some scribblings “Gu Jun Pyo Geum Jandi’s ‘first night together'”. She gets all choked up at that. Aww.
After that Jihoo takes Jandi back to his home, which is basically a like Korean palace. Jihoo apparently has realised that Junpyo has been stalking them, and he smiles his not-so-mysterious smile. Not-so-mysterious because I know what he’s up to anyway. Heh. Jandi pokes around a bit while Jihoo goes to get tea. She finds traces of Seo Hyun all over the place, again reminding her of how important Seo Hyun is/was to Jihoo. I think she eventually realises that she can never take over or get close to Seo Hyun’s significance in Jihoo’s life? Because she avoids him by going “Oh, lookie over there!” when he tried to kiss her. They then bring up the topic of Seo Hyun, which led Jihoo to being all broody again. He says it’s time to let go of her (but can he truly do so?) and things like that. Jandi rambles on her bit about true love bla bla but it’s pretty corny stuff.
Meanwhile, Junpyo is prancing about outside Jihoo’s house, wondering what could possibly be going on in Jihoo’s house. Just after he gives up on waiting and leaves, Jandi comes out from the house – they just missed each other. Darn. After that, we see Jihoo talking to himself and imaginary Seo Hyun on the wall. He thinks that Jandi may have misunderstood his intentions towards her. At this point, it was obvious that Jihoo still isn’t over Seo Hyun and his real motive of getting close to Jandi was to make Junpyo and Jandi realise their feelings for each other. Riiiiggghhhtt. He went to all that trouble.
While Junpyo is blowing off steam at the lounge playing darts, they (being he and F2) get a text from Jihoo challenging them to a match of ice hockey. Boys. Everything has to be settled physically. Anyway, Jihoo starts off by infuriating Junpyo by saying that Jandi was too easy, he expected her to be more of a challenge. He makes a remark about how Jandi is a real woman, but she bored him, and he doesn’t see her as more than a toy. That was enough to set Junpyo off, and he starts chasing Jihoo around the rink, instead of the puck.
Interesting note though: Jihoo’s jersey read ‘Yoon J H’, Yi Jung’s was ‘So I J’, but Junpyo’s was ‘J P Gu’. Woo Bin’s was ‘U B Song’. I dunno why I find all these fun to notice.
As expected of what would happen in an ice hockey game, a fight ensues, resulting Jihoo having a mouthful of bloody teeth and Junpyo’s hair looking awfully uncurly and unkempt. (Maybe they thought, oh they’re just gonna play hockey, why bother styling Junpyo’s hair?) F2 rushed over to hold back Junpyo, who was going all “I’m gonna kill you” on Jihoo. Jihoo then struggles to get up, but coolly says “Why didn’t you say so?” He then said that if Junpyo can’t let go of Jandi, then he should be honest with himself and they could’ve skipped the whole bloody fight. Junpyo then walks away, but already less angry than he was earlier. (He needs time for Jihoo’s words to get through his thick skull.)
Yi Jung commented that Jihoo’s plan was kind of evil, but Jihoo jokingly said that Junpyo owed him for the toy robot thing, so he wanted to get back at him. Awww so they’re even now. F4 is really back this time. =)
Meanwhile, Jandi is brooding about Junpyo when she gets a call from Junpyo’s cell. But it’s not Junpyo. It’s Yi Jung, calling to ask for Ga Eul’s number tell her that Junpyo has been in an accident and is in the hospital. (He’s used this a few times too many, this boy). Jandi rushes over to see Junpyo unconscious. Woo Bin is sitting by his bedside, going “Oh Junpyo don’t leave us, how could you!!!! Buaaaaaaahhhh”
Jandi herself gets all emotional and teary for quite a while and sobs over Junpyo, saying how she wanted to say she liked him the day before the swimming, bla bla. At this moment, Junpyo opens his eyes, takes off his silly oxygen mask and says “REALLY?” with his silly cheeky smile. Jandi is horrified – it’s a trick?!?!
Everyone is happy and Yi Jung excited points out like a little boy that Jandi was in such a rush to get to the hospital that she wore a shoe on one foot and a slipper on another. Haha but it was so cute to see Junpyo in the hospital bed looking so silly and happy. He asks Jandi to say she likes him, but she pounces on him with one hand on his mouth, lol. And proceeds to smack him a few times.
The next day, Jandi goes out for a jog and realises that they are weird men in suits following her. Junpyo then shows up to kidnap her to go play golf with him.
The golf scene was kind of hilarious. Not knowing how to play is one thing, but swinging the golf club at bystanders could turn out to be assault and battery okay. Lol at Jandi for her um…determination.
Jandi and Junpyo were at this fancy restaurant for dinner where Jandi ran into the tarty trio and their boyfriends while going back to take away thir leftovers. The tarty boyfriends laugh at Jandi for having to eat scraps, then Junpyo shows up and taunts them. He apologises to Junpyo, but Junpyo told him he’s apologising to the wrong person. Aww. The tarty boyfriend says his sorry, then Junpyo leaves with Jandi.
They then share another moment in the car, while they were watching the movie. It was a very cute scene where you have two teens with raging hormones in a car, not knowing what to do. Just as Junpyo leans in to kiss Jandi, her phone rings. Darrrrn. After that awkward near-kiss, Jandi tries to avoid Junpyo over the next few days.
However, Gu Junpyo is not an easy person to avoid. In the spur of the moment, he shows up at Jandi’s house late at night. Her brother opens the door, and shuts it in his face again lol. Junpyo asked if he could stay the night with Jandi’s family. They’re only too happy to have him, and Mummy dresses him up in pajamas which are too short for him.
Lol the pants were too short for his legs too, but Junpyo obviously has a god-like complex, which allows him to look confident still in the photo above. Lol. Daddy and little bro tried to follow Junpyo’s new trend too by folding up their pants and looking silly. 😀
They spent the night sleeping in the same room LOL. Junpyo slept between little bro and Daddy, and he had this silly smile on his face all the time while he wasn’t sleeping. He told Jandi that he liked the family feel of the whole sleeping together thing, which I thought was really sweet. The whole thing that made the Tsukasa-Makino relationship seem so right was because Makino always seemed to be able to humble up Tsukasa, make him feel like a real person instead of just an heir. It’s really sweet to see Junpyo getting in touch with his family values too. =)
We’ll have to wait for more next week, there wasn’t any previews because all I saw were scenes from the episode when the credits rolled. There was this little scene where Junpyo’s evil mum appears, so maybe she’ll come into the picture the next episode, but that’s it. Till next week!
