A Drop Of Sunshine On A Rainy Day

I confess, this came from clicking on one of those annoying links people share on their timelines, but it was completely worth it.

It is a great song to begin with – the original singer/composer is Guan Zhe, whose version of it is absolutely heartwrenching. Shila’s performance took it to another level of amazing. So of course, it’s been on repeat all day.

Golden Bell Awards 2013

It’s been a long time since I’ve been interested in awards ceremony in Tw-ent, because I’m not that invested in Tw-ent as I used to be. So I chanced upon the Golden Bell Awards (and only because Kangxi was preempted to air this). I stumbled upon this.

It brought me way back to my first Taiwanese idol drama. No kidding. That’s the one that started me off. I don’t think I’d be able to sit through the entire thing again unless I’m doing it with one of my old friends, who shared her enthusiasm for the show. The fact that it revolved around basketball (and god knows I’m a sucker for sports-themed dramas) probably did it for me. We’d have a good time doing commentary on it, I would think. With some alcohol, anything should be possible. I still know all the words to that song, too. So even if 5566 has disbanded now, there’s nothing to stop us from hitting the karaoke, eh?

The other amazing thing is that it’s performed by Yoga Lin, whom I rather adore. It’s like the cherry on top, really. Thank you, Golden Bell, you have made my day.
